Beyond retro: why 80s-obsessed producers are taking Rihanna back in time

     The article “Beyond retro: why 80s-obsessed producers are taking Rihanna back in time”  is devoted to the You Tube channel "Initial Talk" which has not so many followers, but widely known for its awesome remixes of the most popular songs. Dua Lipa, Ariana Grander and others became “victims” of making their songs retro.

     

First, the author draws the readers' attention to the leader of this idea - Japanese producer. Then he analyzes the identity of these tracks with songs from 80s. He gives an example of similarity in sounding and using standard techniques such as synth line, machine drums and cooing chorus. He also emphasizes that the videos have huge number of fake bizarre comments. Then the author argues that such flashbacks allow people to feel nostalgia and plunge into the past. In addition, project producer remarks that this work helps him to turn out in distant years which seem like another galaxy.

     

Finally, the author concludes that some remixes superior versions of their originals, for instance, Tronicbox’s version of Justin Bieber’s Baby. And please, don’t tell Justin about it.
