What are the advantages and disadvantages of ever-increasing use of technology

        Nowadays smartphones, computers, laptops, and other achievements of technology are widely used by people. We may even consider them to be an essential part of our life, which is highly “addicted” to them. But at the same time, the high using of them is leading to some arguments among people whether it is good or bad. So let’s review advantages and disadvantages of ever-increasing use of technology through three aspects: the effect on children, human’s socialization, and our life in general.

     It’s strongly believed that technology has a great influence on children; unfortunately, it’s not only positive, but also negative. From one point of view, gadgets help young generation to develop their mental skill, teach them to think widely, and to be broad-minded. Now kids seem to be smarter in using of technique than adults. But on the other hand, children became really addicted to smartphones and other gadgets. They spend the most of their time in front of the screens and follow passive way of live. For example, a friend of mine has a little brother. He is an enough smart boy who understands difficult computer programs and wants to be a programmer. But at the same time, he prefers a smartphone to walking with friends or playing active games. And this leads to a quarrel between him and his parents.

     Another controversial point is about human’s socialization. According to the article from “Forbes” about the person’s loneliness, in the modern world many people, while having a huge number of virtual friends, don’t have real soulmates who may give them a helping hand in some difficulties. Does it mean that technology doesn’t help people to make friends? Certainly, no.  Internet became a way of meeting new people who share your interests and hobbies. It allows you to have a friend from another part of the world. Moreover, some persons find their love with the help of Internet.

     And of course, technology has a great influence on our style of life. But can we say that it is always pleasant changes? In general, it makes our lives easier. You may make a delicious cup of coffee at home just with the help of a coffee machine. You may keep in touch with your distant friends and relatives. You may clean your house without any forces, because you have a robot vacuum cleaner! Almost every thing can be done by technique. But is it always advantageous? At this time many people are losing their job, because their work is done by robots. For instance, one my acquaintance was fired, because now some new electronic programs can do his job. For free. That’s why his skills are not required any more.

     To sum it up, all changes in our life have positive and negative results; so as ever-increasing use of technology has. It’s pretty clear that technology is developing with an absolutely high speed and we can’t do anything against it. An only thing we can do is to send it to the right stream.
